First Article: Kramnik vs. Topalov
As this is my first article I will like to write it as good as I can, first of all i would like to write a little about the new 2700 rule which FIDE have decided to make, which i can seriously not understand why anybody wants to make, as i do not understand what good it should do for the world of chess, the second thing about the rule is that a player must be aviable for 10. mills to found to the match, and to prize money, but who would give 10. mills to sponser a chess match, there where of course one in 1972 who did so to get Fischer to come and play at all, then again in 1978 (the next match as Fischer refuted to play in 1975) where i think it where a local man on Filipines that castet 10.000 $ in, but nothing like 10. mills.
Second of all, i would like to write a litte about the match between Veselin Topalov and Vladimir Kramnik.
First i would like to write about Veselin Topalov, a very shy player who plays some imaginary games with a quite agrasive style, mainly sticking to the sicilian defense, which can be lethal but
is not always the same lethal as white can play very critical, in fact it were that why i lay down the sicilian, but Topalov almost only plays the sicilian, I'll not talk about the critical lines in this articale to see those lines check my other blog I'll have to type them in.
But anyway, Veselin Topalov has a style which i think suit the sicilian very well. As he tries to be lethal in most of his games, but do not always succeed, but plays great chess, there only that littl thing about him he gives not much interview to the press in tournaments unless it is needed from him.
Also that he already now begging to feel "not the right champion", there can be several thing in that sentence, first of all he can try to push the pressure to Kramnik, and thereupon be gained some freedom to concentrate on chess, or he might be telling the truth that he is scared to play against Kramnik! But as he won their last game that might not be the case. Now i would like to write a little bit about Kramnik,
Kramnik where in 2002 the first player ever to beat Garry Kasparov in a match of the world chess championship.
As also the only one in classical chess, Kasparov where champion for i think two decades, with Kramnik ending the line.
Looking at the Kramnik Topalov score Kramnik have a positive score on +10 with i think =9, that might give Kramnik a little bit to defend in the match.
To come back to Topalov again i think he have already played his best tournament, and i believe that were
San Luis 2005.
With Kramnik I'm on the other hand as I'm not very sure about whether he have or haven't been playing his best tournament ever, if so it should have been in 2002 when he beaten Garry Kasparov in a match of the world chess championship, so far that is the best.
But we all remember the Linares where Topalov surpringly beaten Kasparov 2 to 0 in their fights, so perhaps this would be even better for him to win.
The question i come to now is whether to bring a Topalov game and a Kramnik game and try to illustrate their styles to give a clear picture for who is the better, at least in my mind, but i think i will try that on my other blog.
Greetings Tobias.
